Quarry Unveils New Customer Self-Management System In the Isocore IP-Optical Showcase at SUPERCOMM
Quarry's iQ8000 provides security services for Isocore's converged IP-Optical self-healing network

Chicago, June 22, 2004 - Quarry Technologies, the performance leading supplier of carrier-class security service routers, announced it will be demonstrating its new iQCSM web-based customer self management system in the Isocore IP-Optical Pavillion (Booth 11142) at SUPERCOMM this week. The demonstration of the latest advancement in Quarry's iQ family of security service router technology will run on a live network for the Isocore Pavillion that is protected by Quarry's iQ system. The iQCSM application provides unprecedented visibility into provider-based security services by giving customers the ability to view and modify existing security policies, as well as add new security services and users, all in real time, through a customized web portal. SUPERCOMM is taking place June 20-24 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

According to Quarry President and CEO Ian Mashiter, "Quarry's iQCSM is a breakthrough. iQCSM greatly improves the marketability of carrier-based security services by addressing two critical customer concerns, control and visibility," said Mashiter. "Enterprises can now control their security services in real-time, without having to contact their providers to update policies or even provision new security services. As a result, service providers experience reduced operational costs due to fewer customer service calls."

The Quarry iQCSM system is integrated with the Quarry iQSMS(R) service management system which runs with the Quarry iQ-series Security Service Routers. It allows enterprise managers to modify security policies across all of their sites from a single location. The customer accesses the iQCSM with a standard Web browser, and an XML tool kit is provided to the service provider so it can customize or brand the interface for its customers.

The Quarry iQCSM customer self-management system allows enterprise customers using service provider-based security services to:

-- Monitor usage in real time

-- Modify security policies

-- Verify Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

-- Provision new users

-- Provision new services (i.e. firewalls) automatically

-- Auto-provision bandwidth on demand

-- Generate numerous reports for management purposes

Service providers also gain increased visibility through more detailed monitoring and reporting. In conjunction with the completely virtualized security services on Quarry's iQ-series Security Service Routers, the enhanced iQSMS with customer self-management provides a unique capability to deliver a virtualized view of security services across thousands of individual customers.

The Quarry iQ8000 is the Firewall to the Internet for the IP VPNs in the SuperComm IP Optical Pavilion. Quarry demonstrates configuration of Virtual Routers to establish IP VPNs and apply unique virtualized firewall rules. Virtualized and Public Firewalls will be configured with inbound and outbound rules to filter traffic so that the IP VPNs and Internet are both protected. The iQ8000 will be a PE node for numerous IP VPNs. The iQ is directly connected to a Juniper M10 and an Avici QSR while peering with Cisco, Juniper, Redback, and Marconi across the network to establish IP VPNs through the IP Optical Pavilion network. The VPNs are established using IETF standard RFC 2547, MPLS/BGP VPNs. Management of the VRs, Firewall, and IP VPN functionality are facilitated by Quarry's SMS. The Quarry Client is also available to demonstrate remote access through a Service Provider provisioned IP VPN..
